Who we are
Porto Fader, 116 Quay Street, Auckland CBD, Auckland 1010, New Zealand, is responsible for personal information described here. For privacy questions write to [email protected] or telephone 09 379 1160. This is the official website.
The enquiry form
The table form on the contact page runs entirely in your browser. When you press “Request a table”, the details stay on the screen in front of you. They are not posted to a server, not written to a database, and not emailed by us. If you choose “Open this request in your email”, your own mail programme opens a draft addressed to [email protected]. That message is sent only if you send it.
Refreshing the page clears the form. We cannot recover it, because we never received it.
What we do collect
We collect personal information when you give it to us directly, for example when you:
- telephone or email the reservations desk
- dine with us, and we note a preference, an allergy, or a deposit
- write to us about an account, a complaint, or a private dining
That information may include your name, telephone number, email address, the size of your party, the date of your booking, dietary notes, and payment details taken for a deposit. We use it to hold and provide the table, to meet food-safety duties, and to answer you.
Cookies and the map
This website does not set analytics or advertising cookies. The Google Maps frame on the restaurant and contact pages is provided by Google. When it loads, Google may receive your IP address and set its own cookies under Google’s privacy policy. You can read the address and open the map in a separate window if you prefer not to load the frame.
Who we share information with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only where we need to run the restaurant: with our bank for a deposit, with a supplier if a private dining requires it, or where New Zealand law requires disclosure. Staff see booking details only as far as their work requires.
How long we keep it
Booking notes are kept for as long as they are useful for your next visit and for our accounting, then deleted or de-identified. Allergy notes are kept with the booking they belong to. Tax records are kept for the period required by the Inland Revenue Acts.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you may ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and you may ask us to correct it. Write to [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our response you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Children
The dining room is for guests aged 12 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children through this website.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page of the official website.
