The website
This website is published by Porto Fader at 116 Quay Street, Auckland CBD, Auckland 1010, New Zealand. It is the official website. Pages, menus, and prices may change without notice. A price on the site is an invitation to enquire, not a contract, until a reservation is confirmed by the restaurant.
Reservations
A table is held only when the reservations desk confirms it by telephone or email. The enquiry form on the contact page does not create a booking. It does not send or store your details.
Please arrive within fifteen minutes of your seating. After that, the table may be released. For parties of six or more we may ask for a deposit, taken by telephone, to hold the evening.
Cancellation
Please cancel or change a booking by 12 noon, two days before the evening. A late cancellation or a failure to arrive may be charged at NZ$150 per guest for The Quay, NZ$200 per guest for The Roof, and NZ$250 per guest for the chef’s table. We will say so when the booking is confirmed.
The menu and the cellar
Menus follow the market. A dish described on the website may be replaced if the produce is not at its best. Prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST. We do not add a service charge. Wine is offered by the glass and by the bottle; a pairing is optional.
Allergies
Tell us of allergies and intolerances when you book, and again when you arrive. The kitchen handles shellfish, gluten, dairy, nuts, and kina. We will adjust a dish where we safely can. We cannot guarantee a kitchen free of those ingredients.
Dress and the room
Dress is smart. Beachwear, sports shoes, caps, and athletic clothing are not worn in the dining room. The terrace and the inner room are for guests aged 12 and over at dinner. We may refuse service where a guest’s conduct spoils the room for others.
The roof
The terrace is open to Auckland weather. If wind or rain makes it unpleasant, we will seat you in the glazed room. The view remains. Blankets are available in the cooler months. Please take care on wet stone.
Photographs
Personal photographs of your table are welcome. Flash, tripods, and photography of other guests or of the kitchen, other than from the chef’s table, are not. Images on this website are for presenting the restaurant and the harbour. Credits appear in the footer.
Liability
We take reasonable care of guests and of their belongings. We are not liable for loss that the law does not require us to cover, including delay on the ferry or a change in the weather. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of New Zealand. The courts of New Zealand have jurisdiction.
